  • Company Registration: The exporter of record must be a legal entity duly registered with the government of Thailand, and possess a business license. Individuals, charitable organizations, etc. may not export commercial trade goods. Customs Card: There is an export Customs clearance process for all shipments leaving Thailand. The exporter of record must possess a valid Customs card, issued only to registered companies by Thailand Customs for a period of four years (renewable). Certificate of Origin: Thailand is a beneficiary country under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP). Shipments of eligible commodities must be accompanied by a certificate of origin, "Form A". Export License: Specialized permits are required for some commodity types. The complete list is extensive, but common examples are: Products made of wood, especially teak, Fine art, Antiques, Items of religious significance, Handicrafts (hand-loomed fabric, etc.), Garments, Wildlife and wildlife products.

  • Permits are issued by various government agencies. Again, the forwarder can assist in the processing of these permits but cannot obtain them without full co-operation from a legitimate exporter-of-record. Minimum processing time for these permits is approximately one week. More difficult items (antiques, firearms) may require several weeks.

  • Certificate of Products Standard: Issued by the Department of Foreign Trade Promotion (Ministry of Commerce) to cover consignments of hand-made items, including some furniture. The hand-made product must meet minimum quality standards to be certified and approved for export. In general, shippers must provide the commercial invoice and packing slip.
